Backyard Composting Education Program
Backyard composting is a great way to divert leaves
and grass clippings from the local landfill.
Composting is pretty simple once the basics are
understood and applied.
The Environmental Department and the Extension office have partnered to bring you the opportunity to attend a backyard compost training. With funding from the America Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) the backyard compost trainings are being offered for free.
Would you like to host a training?
Host a backyard composting training for you and your friends, neighbors, family or community group! A certified Master Composter will teach you how to start and maintain a successful backyard compost system.
The program also has backyard compost bins for sale at half the retail price for only $50. Call the KSU office for information at 913-715-7000.
To book a backyard compost training please contact the Johnson County K-State Research and Extension at 913-715-7000.
